Ashley Dawn Reviews ‘Fatal Judgment’ by Irene Hannon

‘Fatal Judgment’ by Irene Hannon

Book Review:
This was a great book.  US Marshall Jake Taylor has just gotten back from a job when he gets a call, Federal Judge Elizabeth Michaels’ sister has been shot in the Judge’s home.  Jake had never wanted to see Liz again.  She is the woman he blames for the death of his best friend.  Liz has always noticed Jake’s coolness toward her but never understood it.  Jake doesn’t want to take the assignment but there is no option.  He is professional enough to keep his opinions to himself, but what if his opinions all these years were wrong?  Could he keep a woman he is coming to care for alive when she could be on a psycho’s hit list?

I loved the interaction between characters.  Liz and Jake may be somewhat enemies in the beginning but he still has compassion for her. You can feel Liz’s pain and confusion!  Jake’s siblings are a wonderful touch and I’m hoping there is more about each of them in future stories.  I also liked how the author brought in characters from her last series to play roles in this book.  The message through the book is God’s forgiveness and consistency.  Wonderful read.

I rate it a 5/5.  Even if you aren’t a Christian you will enjoy the suspense and twists in this book!

Book Blurb:
U.S. Marshal Jake Taylor has seen plenty of action during his years in law enforcement. But he'd rather go back to Iraq than face his next assignment: protection detail for federal judge Liz Michaels. His feelings toward Liz haven't warmed in the five years since she lost her husband--and Jake's best friend--to possible suicide. How can Jake be expected to care for the coldhearted workaholic who drove his friend to despair?
As the danger mounts and Jake gets to know Liz better, his feelings slowly start to change. When it becomes clear that an unknown enemy may want her dead, the stakes are raised. Because now both her life--and his heart--are in mortal danger.
Full of the suspense and romance Irene Hannon's fans have come to love, Fatal Judgment is a thrilling story that will keep readers turning the pages late into the night.

“…It is the price you pay for choosing to be a cop. Your brother’s life…”

Those words haunt her dreams, and her waking moments. LAPD officer, Aurora Kavvan cannot rest until she finds her brothers killer. Digging into the past always brings back unpleasant things: memories, guilt…the hit man. Now she is in a race against time to find the murderer before he finds her.

"Kill her. I don’t care how, and I don’t care where, but I want her dead now!”

Someone was trying to kill his dead partner’s sister. FBI agent, Jordan Reiley will stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves. Even if it means going against her wishes; putting himself between her and the man who murdered her brother.

Will God keep them alive long enough for them to find the truth?

  1. Thanks for the great review of my latest book, Fatal Judgment! And yes, there will be more to come with the Taylor siblings. Alison's story, Deadly Pursuit, is up next. Watch for it in September!
