Kiki: What is your favorite genre to read in, and what is it about that genre that attracts you to it? If you like a specific mix of genres, please state that particular combination.

Stacey: I love to read Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. Give me hunky Alpha men, danger, mystery, kick-ass heroines, and I’ll have my nose glued to the pages.

Kiki: What is your favorite author to read in that genre, and why? Also, please tell me a little about the best book by that author you have read.

Stacey: My favorite author is Katie MacAlister and she writes my all-time favorite books. Her dragon series had me hooked with the very first book, You Slay Me. Nine books later, I’m still utterly captivated by the entire series and eagerly awaiting her next release.

I love her humor. Jim, a demon in the books, seriously makes me laugh aloud. Add that to loveable, strong heroines that are full of snark, plus tough dragon-shifters that need to be put in their places often—and I can’t get enough.

Kiki: Do you have a Favorite Book of All Time? Of course, please tell us what about that book makes it your favorite.

Stacey: *gasps* I could never answer this! I LOVE so many! Jeaniene Frost and Keri Arthur also top my favorite authors list. Any of their books are my favorites.

Kiki: What is the best book you read last month, and would you recommend it to a friend?

Stacey: I’m currently reading Living Nightmare by Shannon K. Butcher. If you haven’t had the chance to check out her Sentinel Wars series—go and buy it right now! She is a master of writing incredible first chapters. The first book in the series, Burning Alive was utterly brilliant!

Kiki: What are your reading habits like? For example, how many books do you read on average in a week, what format do you prefer to read in, what time of day do you read, and what setting is ideal for you to get lost in that book?

Stacey: Before I started writing, I read…a lot. 3-4 books a week. Sadly now, I don’t have as much time with my kids being older and not napping anymore, plus with my own writing, so I tend to only read a book every two weeks.

If the book is good enough, it doesn’t matter where I am or what I’m doing, I’ll easily get lost in it.

Kiki: If pressed, could you chose a favorite from the books you have written? Why is it your favorite?

Stacey: Hard question. I love all my characters—for all different reasons. Right now, I’m editing Werewolves Be Damned, so I’d say that Nexi is my favorite character. She is by far, the funniest character I’ve ever written, and her snarky kick-ass attitude is amusing!

Kiki: How do you become inspired to write?

Stacey: Everything inspires me. But mostly, the characters are what make me want to dig in. For me, writing is much like reading. I never plot out my stories so the journey I get is the same as it’d be for the reader. Every step of the way I’m dying to know what happens next.

Kiki: What part of the story do you think is your strength to write?

Stacey: Emotion. I’m a very emotional person so that tends to come out in my writing. Yes, it’s a great thing, but ask my husband, it comes with flaws. I can be handful!

Kiki: Please share with ABA readers something I did not think to ask you about.

Stacey: I love chatting with not only other readers, but book lovers in general. I’m on Facebook and Twitter so come and find me!!

“Stacey Kennedy has another hit with Whispers of Evil, book two in Stacey’s extremely hot paranormal romance series. This is a fast romance that will have you hanging on to find out how Griffin is going to get Nayeli to give him her heart, bare and exposed (loved that at the end.)” Bitten by Paranormal Romance

“I can’t help but feel warm and tingly when I think about my experience reading this book. It truly is an incredible story, one best read with your heart and there wasn’t any part of it that I didn’t love. WHISPERS OF EVIL once again proved to me I can’t go wrong reading something written by Stacey Kennedy. The woman has a gift, not just in the mere telling of a story but in sharing the complete book package – moving plot filled with depth and emotion and characters that endear themselves to you instantly. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Watchers series and how Stacey will top this one.” The Bookish Snob

Teaser Excerpt:

A noise drew Griffin away from his thoughts. He glanced over his shoulder, and Nayeli stood behind him, a stunning beauty. The women had obviously not only let her shower, but had given her clothes and makeup. He thought her beautiful before. Now, she was breathtaking, wearing a black camisole and jeans. Her dark hair fell soft and silky over her shoulders. Her eyes appeared sexy outlined by dark eye-shadow. Her cheeks were rosy, and her lips an enticing soft pink. He’d questioned if he could love—Am I capable—now he had no doubt. This woman belonged to him. “You’re back,” he said gently.

“I’m back,” she whispered, now standing in the middle of the room.

He could see her tremble, the fear of what was to come reflected in her eyes. He’d rectify that. She might be afraid of his touches for now. She probably worried that this would hurt, but he would bring her to a point where she begged for his advances. Bring her to a state where she whispered his name from her pouty mouth. “Come here, Nayeli.”

She paused, a moment that left Griffin’s breath in his throat. Her soft green eyes were wide and looked worried. “I…I…”

He let out a long breath and went to her. With each step he took, she reciprocated by taking a step back. He stopped, not wanting to startle her. “Why do you fear me?”

She looked away from his gaze to the prevalent bulge in his black shorts that appeared the moment he saw her. “It’s not you so much, as that.”

Withholding his grin was near impossible. He began his approach to her again in slow, steady movements. She continued her movement backwards until she met the wall with a loud thud. She gasped.

“You fear it now, but in time, you will grow to crave it.”

“I’m not sure I can do this,” she whispered.

He closed in on her, stopped in front of her, and looked down into those eyes that could melt his soul. “You can.” He gave her a firm look. “And you will.”

“But I…”

He leaned down close to her mouth, and her breath came out in quick pants he was sure were due to fear. “Nayeli, you’re safe with me. I have waited years, more years than you could fathom, to have you just like this. I’m only pleased that no one has shared your bed. You have a right to be nervous, even a right to fear what will happen here, but this has to be done, not only for you to join our house, but because I cannot wait another moment not being connected to your body.”

“Will it…” She looked up to him with sweet innocent eyes. “Will it feel good?”

He grinned. “I will ensure it does.” Then, he ran his finger along her soft rosy cheek. “Of course, it may hurt a little at first, but I promise to erase that pain with pleasure.”

A little smile lifted the side of her face. She stepped in closer, and her body came tight against his hardened length. “Well…that doesn’t sound so bad.”

He arched his brow, grinning in return. “No, it doesn’t.” Then, he leaned down and captured her lips, gentle at first, testing her ways. His hands came up around her face as he titled her head back, bringing her mouth higher to meet his. Slowly, she succumbed and parted her lips, and he continued with open mouth kisses. He worked his mouth along with hers in a manner that would weaken her in the knees.
