Bewitching Trick-or-Treat Blog Hop

My October releases span the genres and the age groups this year from a children’s picture book titled, What Are You Afraid Of?, and a short story for everyone called “An Irish Halloween” in the Happy Halloween! A Treat For the Whole Family anthology, both published with Dancing With Bear Publishing. Then, in keeping with my naughtier side, a short pagan erotic romance called Working Out The Kinks, was released with Rebel Ink Press, and another short called “Midnight Showing” is soon to be available the Naughty Nights Press anthology, A Wicked and Wanton All Hallow’s Eve.

SPECIAL OCTOBER ABA AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH J.S. MORBIUS

Kiki: What is your favorite genre to read in, and what is it about that genre that attracts you to it? If you like a specific mix of genres, please state that particular combination.

J.S. Morbius: My favourite genre is actually the psychological thriller, the darker the psychological aspect the better.

Kiki: What is your favorite author to read in that genre, and why? Also, please tell me a little about the best book by that author you have read.

J.S. Morbius: I don’t really have one particular favourite, there are so many that I really enjoy reading from the likes of Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Karen Rose, it would be unfair to single one out as the best. I have just finished ‘I can see you’ by Karen Rose, a story about a killer who stalks his prey over the Internet, finds out all about his victim’s fears and then uses them against them.

Kiki: Do you have a Favorite Book of All Time? Of course, please tell us what about that book makes it your favorite.

J.S. Morbius: I guess my favourite book of all time has to be Stephen King’s IT. The expertly woven tale of terror, childhood friendships tested to the limit, romance and a harmless, at first clown, drag the reader in from the very start, making this one book that is hard to put down.

Kiki: What is the best book you read last month, and would you recommend it to a friend?

J.S. Morbius: Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell. This is the book that breathed new life ito Patricia Cornwell’s forensic pathologist and yes I would recommend it, especially if forensics is something that interest you. The descriptions are gruesome, without over glorification, and the story twists and turns like a mountain road.

Kiki: What are your reading habits like? For example, how many books do you read on average in a week, what format do you prefer to read in, what time of day do you read, and what setting is ideal for you to get lost in that book?

J.S. Morbius: I try to read at least two books a week, depending on their size, but never two by the same author. Normally I like to read for a couple of hours in the evening, between six and eight pm as I let my evening meal go down then an hour or so, depending on my tiredness, at about midnight. I still prefer to read hard or paperback books, I am yet to invest in a kindle but I do have an android smartphone that I have downloaded some smaller ebooks on to.

Kiki: If pressed, could you choose a favorite from the books you have written? Why is it your favorite?

J.S. Morbius: Seeing as Star Search will be my first ever published book I guess that ought to be my favourite. However I have written two more transgender stories, ‘Addicted to Charlie’ and ‘The Girl in the Red Bikini’ that I am also going to submit to Naughty Nights Press once ‘Star Search’ is released.

Kiki: How do you become inspired to write?

J.S. Morbius: Inspiration can come from anywhere, at any given time, and usually does. It may be something totally innocent that I see, a random idea popping into my head or thoughts and dreams I have had. Once I have the idea I have to start writing it down and just see where it ends up.

Kiki: What part of the story do you think is your strength to write?

J.S. Morbius: Personally I think it is the way I twist and turn the plot into areas no-one expects before finally ending at a place where it gives readers something to think about, other than the sex.

Kiki: Please share with ABA readers something I did not think to ask you about.

J.S. Morbius: Being partially disabled and unable to gain employment in my two qualified vocations, funeral directing and butchery, I have plenty of time to write as well as run a small buying and selling business on Ebay and learn the ins and outs of digital fantasy art.

Kiki: Okay, a few special October Questions….

J.S. Morbius: That’s easy with my name it has to be a vampire.

Kiki: Favorite Costume on the Opposite Sex:

J.S. Morbius: Female cop

Kiki: What do you think is the scariest costume?

J.S. Morbius: Zombie (If done correctly)

Kiki: What do you think is the sexist costume?

J.S. Morbius: On a male The Vampire. On a female either the Female cop or Skimpy Red Devil costume.

Kiki: Favorite Halloween movie?

J.S. Morbius: The original Halloween, directed by John Carpenter.

Kiki: Favorite Treat?

J.S. Morbius: Sweet/candy wise there’s nothing like a nice bar of dark chocolate.

Synopsis for Star Search by J.S. Morbius

Joe is a gay man who prefers to date Transsexuals. Never attending work parties, Joe decides to attend this particular one and becomes a bit worried, as he is required to bring a partner. Calling on his best friend Angel for advice, she suggests he hires an escort. After spending the most glorious evening and all night with Star, Joe decides he will continue to book Star every weekend. When he gets in touch with the agency he finds out that Star has quit escorting and they can’t give him any more information as to how to get in touch with her.
