My Review of Take Me Down:

I have agreed to review Lauren Hawkeye’s Erotic Me Series from Harlequin Spice Briefs, one review each month, Sept 7, Oct. 7th, Nov. 7th and Dec 7th  through Bewitching Book Tours. The first book, Take Me Down, was short and spicy just as one would expect from Spice Briefs. I loved the situation of having a full house of relatives and friends after a wedding. The heat of the evening was a very realistic setting. Her main character was great, flaws and all. I enjoy the complexity of such female characters. The set-up of knowing Lucas prior creates tension before it even all begins. The sex was hot with great moments beyond the ordinary. My only disappointments were having one element, setting – don’t want to give away anything, that seemed unrealistic to me and one situation that was brought up and then forgotten without being resolved, both of which were minor things, but I was still surprised they were overlooked.  Once things like this capture your attention, it distracts from what was a fantastic, very sexy, very intense story. Regardless, for me, I enjoyed the read enough to over-look them enough and still enjoy the story.

Lauren Hawkeye is a writer, theatre enthusiast, knitting aficionado and animal lover who lives in the shadows of the great Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada.
She’s older than she looks—really—and younger than she feels—most of the time—and she loves to explore the journeys that take women through life in her stories.
