A Witchy October Sale!

For the month of October a couple of my witchy shorts are available for only $0.99. These are limited time sales - on both my paranormal erotic romance Spelled and my pagan erotic romance Working Out the Kinks - to celebrate the October releases of two new shorts - an erotic, dark fantasy horror story called A Violent Seduction and a much sweeter paranormal erotic romance called Soul Lights, A Hallowe’en Romance of an Erotic Danse Macabre – both of which will also be only $0.99.

Of course I’ll throw in a few extras along the way!

First, I’m having a sort-of BOGO Sale incentive. Just buy one of these books, review it (hey, one to two sentences is good with me), and email me at howell.kiki@gmail.com with the link to the review and the name of the second book in this collection that you would like free. I’ll send it your way :)

Second, I have a giveaway. I’ve just created a new account on Twitter, so anyone who follows me on Twitter up until October 30th will be entered for the chance to win either

~a copy of my witchy suspense novel, Hidden Salem, ebook or print, your choice
Or
~DVD copies of two of my favorite witchy movies to re-watch in October, Practical Magic and The Covenant

If you are not on Twitter, hey I understand, I resisted forever, simply comment below for a chance to win.

Here’s all the book info!
A Violent Seduction Blurb:
When David stumbles into Myrissa’s Wiccan Supply Shoppe — the man bruised and bloody, complaining of strange occurrences and true night terrors — she agrees to help him. After studying his clouded aura and listening to his story, she believes he’s been cursed, bound to a succubus.

Agreeing to come home with him, cleanse his apartment and try to banish the sexual predator, she gathers her supplies. What she witnesses and battles though proves darker and more seductive, than she could’ve ever imagined. Will her magic be enough? Or will she also fall prey to the dark and violent seduction of a demon?
Warning: This story is Dark Erotica/Dark Fantasy Horror involving a succubus. It contains a mix of sex and violence as well as mind control and magic during such acts.

Genres: Dark Erotica, Horror
Available Now at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Soul Lights, A Hallowe’en Romance of an Erotic Danse Macabre Blurb:
Lighting a soul light in a cemetery on Hallowe’en hoping to catch a glimpse of her mother in the danse macabre, Nina’s sadness weighs her down. Then something shimmers on the edge of the tree line. Called to it, she lets a spirt whose flesh is hot and solid but invisible, like no spirit she’s encountered before, lead her into the woods.

With sensations of Deja Vu, she immediately trusts him but knows not why. Wanting that dangerous reach for life that comes only through skin on skin contact, she gives into her needs, outside, against a tree, at the whim of this spirit who feels like a real flesh and blood man. But, secrets await her once Kailen’s spirit materializes fully. And, who steps through the portal next with a Hallowe’en gift will change her life forever…
Genres: Erotic, Paranormal Romance; Halloween
Available Now at Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Spelled Blurb:
When Sandra’s aunt discovers a dark and disturbing spell during a ritual in her store, Sandra flies to California at her families urging. What she never expected was a dark-haired, silver-eyed man to walk into the store and propose the most insane of ideas to her - that they were spelled, generations ago, by a dark warlock.

The implications of this history lesson are as complicated as they are startling, and their only options are not all that clear. Real or magick, there is an obvious attraction between Sandra and Daniel. Together their powers are strong, and their options appear limited.
Sandra and Daniel have only one night to find a way to not only to save their families magick, but also to save the earth from a magick-al catastrophe. They must put their minds, their bodies, their magick, and maybe even their hearts on the line, or all could be lost.

Genres: Paranormal (Witches), Erotic Romance, Suspense

Available Now at ExcessicaAmazonBarnes & Noble and All Romance Ebooks, etc.

Working Out the Kinks Blurb:
The First Book In The Erotic World Of Pagan Romance

Can an unconventional sex life a couple experimented with before their breakup be the one thing that might just spark life back into their relationship after months of being apart?
Can a sex magick ritual combined with this BDSM lifestyle help a man win back the woman he loves?
Can he earn back her trust by putting her in a situation where she has to trust him with her safety and emotional well-being?

Making an appointment with his ex-girlfriend under a fake name, David buys himself one hour to get her attention. Hoping to apologize and remind her of their time together, he intends to do whatever he has to in order to make Meredith, a practicing Wiccan, forgive him for being idiot enough to have listened to those around him and choosing his political aspirations over love.

Meredith is resistant to let David anywhere near her heart again. Desperate, David plays all his trump cards and suggests a sexual magick ritual that incorporates the BDSM lifestyle he and Meredith used to experiment with. The methods he uses may be unconventional, like sensory deprivation and sensation play intended to build trust and to achieve altered states of consciousness. David is more than willing to do whatever it takes if he can just get Meredith to agree.

Will Meredith give in to David and put the past behind them?
Can David truly give everything he has ever known and strived for in order to be with his beloved witch?

Special Blog Post - All About Abby Hayes!

An Author To READ!

I first got to know Abby Hayes through a mutual publisher. And, although she’s a sweet and hard-working college kid (I can call her that as I attended college a few decades ago lol), I found once I’d read her stories that she was quite the old soul. I know from talking to her that her story, Finding Paradise, was inspired by talking to women in a college office where she works. Such a compassionate person, their stories and daily life complaints affected her. Then one day at work they were talking about an old song, I’ve Never Been to Me by Charlene, and the story just poured out of her. As touching as it is sexy, it’s one of my favorite stories of Abby’s. Of course, this story won her a JERR Silver Star review – on the first story she ever had published!!!

"Warning: please refrain from reading Finding Paradise while in the presence of others, as frequent relief may be required. Holy smokes this book is HOT! …For exquisite sex scenes, amazing writing and the "real talk" feel for online chat, Finding Paradise is certainly deserving of a JERR Silver Star Award. Bottom line, find your own bit of paradise and pick up Finding ParadiseASAP!" - Silver Star Award at Just Erotic Romance Reviews (5/5 Stars)

But, Abby also writes fun and really hot stories of women just out of college as well, ones that struggle out in the real world with real life, and she mixes those tough topics with themes like ménage, as in Dream Job. Where does she get the inspiration, well she just wrote back to my question *blushes* and *giggles* She’s admitted thus far only to having a huge imagination. Proof of that imagination, speaking of ménage, is in stories like The Girl Next Door  I’m all for that fantasy! No wonder reviewers have said that readers will be jealous of the main character Mandy.

Abby’s also versatile in her writing, and has written a hard-hitting (excuse the pun) M/M/M story that has a backdrop of the MMA among others. You have to read The Fights of Summer   BTW – It’s On Sale Now!  All titles are Buy Links. You have to wonder where she gets such grit? And, with college and a job where she finds the time to write. Abby says that she doesn’t sleep much, but what writing does for her mentally is worth it. Sometimes emotions just have to come out, and they can find strange avenues or very different voices, but it doesn’t matter as long as she gives them the voice they demand.

With Halloween just around the corner, I suggest you check out Costumes and Dungeons too!

As Christy gets ready for her once a year, letting go, night out with her friends, she vows to show them all just how carefree – how wild – she can be. Maybe she can even show herself a thing or two. Well, maybe. She’s just sick of being told to loosen up, to have fun, to enjoy life and all that shit.

Clad in a skimpy vampire costume, this Halloween, her friends Laurie and Missy take her to a big mansion across town. The place is so overwhelming, with the costumes, the music, the actions of the so-called adults in attendance, that she gets a good buzz with very little alcohol.

After rescuing a glass of wine and a picture from a careless couple who bang into a table, she finds herself covered in wine. A man also dressed as a vampire, the homeowner’s son, and a partner in the law firm her friend Laurie works for, leads her downstairs with the promise of getting her cleaned up.

But, the downstairs is more of a bachelor pad, and Christopher is very direct in proposing a night to remember, in what he calls ‘his dungeon’. To her surprise, she agrees. Clad in nothing but her vampire cape, heeled boots and plastic teeth, she submits to him far too easily.

But, things are not always as they seem…

Ndulgent BLOGiversary Hop - Free Flash Fiction & Giveaway

Cold Coffee On A Warm Day — Kiki Howell - Rated R

Years ago this story won #1 Place in the Coffee Fueled Erotica Flash Fiction Contest and since has been published in an erotic journal and on an erotic website. Hope you like it!Make sure to enter the contest below and visit all the other blogs in the hop to enter to win lots more prizes!
She made the popsicles homemade, leftover coffee from the night before mixed with cream and cocoa.  Marlaina always said there was nothing better than cold coffee on a warm day to get you going. One sweltering August night, she found out just how right she was.
Her husband had found her on their sun porch sprawled on a wicker settee, one leg resting flat on the cushion with the other propped up by her foot on the glass top of the patio table. The material of her short sundress clung to her labia between widespread thighs. She sucked on one of her mocha creations like it was a small dildo.
With the neighbors on both sides out for the evening, she felt no need for modesty. Besides, it was one of those humid nights when even sitting still the air clung, made your skin glisten.
“Hey, any more of those left?” he asked, crossing his arms over his bare chest and letting his shoulder fall to the doorway.
“No, but I am willing to share mine.” She made her voice a deep purr, and watched for his cock to sit up and take notice under his shorts.
“Thanks.” She bent her leg on the cushion up toward her chest making her dress pull up, exposing herself completely to him as he came to sit down beside her.
“Here, have a lick,” she said, inserting the popsicle into his mouth.
“No underwear,” he mumbled around the confection.
“Too hot.”
When she took the treat back, she dropped one strap of her dress and circled it around her nipple bringing it to life. A shot of cold went through her stomach, but had turned to molten desire by the time it hit her core from the way he watched her, mouth open, breathing rugged.
Leaning in, he chased the ice cold treat around her breast, licking and nipping at her and the frozen caffeine like it was being shot into his veins. Getting into the fast paced game, she shoved the popsicle between his lips and tore off her dress.
She fingered her clit as he liked, spreading apart her wet folds. As she moved her fingers, her moan elicited a groan from him. The more she played, the more he sucked on the erection-shaped frozen cup of joe.
So, when he tasted her, his lips were like ice on her hot, swollen flesh.  She stifled her cry along with the ones that followed as he lightly brushed the popsicle over her opening before a bit roughly lapping at her with his chilled tongue. This pattern continued over her lips and clit as well until she begged him for more.
He obliged by dropping his shorts and pushing his full cock up inside of her. As she rode the waves of pleasure at having her inner walls adjust around his erection, he kissed her sweetly tasting of cold coffee and her hot juices.

A Snog For Sommer

Getting a little of a late start, but once I read about the Snog for Sommer, I just had to join in. Sommer is an amazing author that I’ve had the privilege to work with for many years now. I’ve enjoyed not only working with her, but becoming a fan of her work as well. In a wonderful twist of fate, we’ve found over the years that we have a lot in common, and although we’ve never met in person, I consider her a very special friend. Life has thrown a lot, a whole hell of a lot, at this wonderful person and her family as of late in a horrible fight with cancer, a monster like no other.  So, like many who know her, I’ve struggled with finding some way to help. This Snog for Sommer is an amazing opportunity created by some great authors. Check out the main site, http://smutforgood.co.uk/a-snog-for-sommer/, and donate is you can, and/or check out all of the wonderful snogs listed in the links at the bottom of the page.

My snog comes from my trilogy, At War in the Willows. I’m going to share a kiss between each main couple from each book.
http://www.kikihowell.com/2012/01/at-war-in-willows-series.html

From The Vampire’s Witch, Book 1:

“You feel something then?” Her voice rose, and she bit her lip, looked away.

“Yes. I feel something. It doesn’t change the facts.”

“I think it does.” She glanced at him.

A few seconds later, she practically dove at him. His body braced as hers fell against his. Caught off guard she knocked him flat on his back and her body fell over his. Her hands grabbed his face hard and her mouth crushed down over his lips. Her tongue entered his mouth before he could process it all. But his body, his instincts, reacted. His fangs revealed themselves right into her lip.

Winter pulled back with a small gasp. Her hand went to her mouth. Magic swirled around him, the power that just resided inside of her increased, glowed around them both so much that he resisted tasting her. Stunned could be the only explanation of why he didn’t put his tongue on his fang to get a hint of her blood’s flavor.

From The Vampire’s Wolf, Book 2:

Into his arms she fell, knocked them both off balance until they landed on the bed with the grace of lovers long kept apart. That’s to say, no beauty or finesse at all; just two bodies which came together, joined as close as they possibly could from head to toe, connected by what felt like the beat of only one heart. Even though the fall was enough to take one’s breath away, Amberlyn felt like she’d really taken her first real breath in a long time when Kane’s mouth took hers. His lips claimed hers, pressed down hard, consumed her own. He nipped at one spot, kissed another, and parted her lips with his tongue. She relented, gave herself to him, more than willing, ready and able. As they rediscovered all a simple kiss could be, their limbs tangled together, warred for closeness that would never be enough, could never be enough unless joined as one.

Sometimes, not even then.

No matter what people were, no matter what the social laws, regardless of the social conventions, beyond the uninformed beliefs, the rulers of their clans could not police or keep apart two hearts such as theirs – so hopelessly in love. Her Vampire heart wanted a Werewolf and she had to live with the consequences of her actions. They’d held back, not seen each other since her maker, Drake, had been killed when her relationship with Kane went public. Still, no amount of time apart, blood shed, threat of war or all-consuming guilt was going to change the way she felt about Kane.

From The Vampire’s Human, Book 3:

His whole body clenched up, every muscle tensed as if he was about to feed. Yet he denied the need, pushed it away as he let his mouth crush down upon hers. When she opened her lips for him, her tongue ignited his. He pulled her body against his. Her soft curves fit right against his rough angles, made them one unit it seemed, so natural, so right, so hazardously combustible. Gripping her ass, he slid her up until his bound erection nestled against her mound. Her legs came up, wrapped around his hips in a torturous squeeze. Warmth and wetness seeped into the denim barrier between them. His tongue warred with hers; she bit his lip then soothed it with a tiny lick. That moment could have lasted seconds or hours, he couldn’t be sure. After that, she pulled back with a mischievous grin on her face, one that lit up her emerald eyes. Her legs, which she slid down over his thighs, posed a greater torment. Hell came to earth when she stepped back away from him – well, hobbled, but still it was sexy.

Fall Contest & Giveaway! Win Promo, Review/Beta Read or Gift Basket!!!

Each year during the fall, I usually do a big giveaway. One, because I’m a paranormal author; and two, because I just love the fall and all it brings. This year I wanted to do something different though, and it means I need to push the season a little to give people a heads up. I’m holding a little writing contest (under 500 words) where an author, aspiring or established, can win a review by an Amazon Top Reviewer (me) or beta read (me also). There will be possible promo too for those who enter. But don’t worry non-writers, I’ve added a way to include you too! All you have to do is share this post for a chance to win a gift basket. All details below…

The Contest: Write an Fall-themed Vignette under 500 words. I don’t care if it’s paranormal or horror or even some sweet depiction of fall leaves. Wait, what is a vignette, you may ask. “A vignette is a short impressionistic scene that focuses on one moment or gives a trenchant impression about a character, idea, setting, or object” –Wikipedia. I think of it as the thousand (or in this case 500) words the picture is worth. So, no action, not a flash story, just a depiction of a moment in time whether it be of a person, place or thing. So get your description on. Clear as mud? If so, I’ve provided an example one below.

For Non-Writerss: All you have to do is share this contest somewhere, a blog or FaceBook or Twitter, put the link below in a comment, and you’ll be entered to win an fall-themed gift basket to enjoy in November with hot chocolate, candy, maybe a scarf, who knows what I’ll come up with *winks*

What You Can Win For Submitting a Vignette: Author’s Choice of either a review of one of their published books to be put up on this blog and/or Goodreads, Barnes & Noble and Amazon (where I’m a Top Reviewer now). Or, if you’d rather a beta read. I’ve done many. And, this should include aspiring authors as well, as I can give a beta of even an unfinished story, or an IOU for when you finish your story. Winners Choice! Winners Vignette will go up on the blog on Oct. 31st.
Possible Promo Just for a Submission: Also, all throughout October I’d like to share the best of the vignettes here on my blog. This won’t indicate a winner, just give some exposure to many who submit. So, make sure to put a short bio with a few links in with your submission.
Deadlines: Deadline for submissions is Oct. 25. Please send all submissions in the body of the email (no attachments) to howell.kiki@gmail.com with Subject Line ‘Vignette’

Here’s mine! I wrote this as a short prequel to a story of mine called “The Stone Hex” published in my Mystic Stones anthology.

Cursed, A Vignette:
Head held high, her black dress taunted the earth with each breeze. A silhouette of a woman stood statue still under the frail protection of a fall tree line where the trunks stopped and opened to an expanse of tightly-knit, burnt out grass. Dying leaves, the first of the season, scented the air, and accosted her dry nose with earthy smells of mold as a chill snaked down her back. The last rays of the sunset, low on the horizon, smudged the multi-colored scene, already rich in crimson and gold and green, with shades of cobalt purple and burnt orange.
The debris of a yard, long unattended, rolled out before her until the twilight-drenched land gave way to the blackness of shadow. From her perspective, the long-abandoned house appeared to have scorched the land with its damned presence. The lack of symmetry of the two-story box of aged wood and cracking paint intimidated even with its weight shifted heavily to the left in a domineering stance. The house sustained the burden of a large fallen tree whose unbroken limbs seemed an elaboration of contorted fingers grappling for possession of the rolling wisps of clouds that muted the emerging moon.
The rotting porch which creaked with each gust of the coming storm, fell short where steps must’ve once been. Despite this, the ancient heavy door with rusted hinges gasped metallic shrieks, moved inches back and forth with each movement of the air, beckoned to a lost soul. The light-play of shadows on filthy and broken windows gave the illusion of specters. Reflections of peeling wallpaper or lost souls dancing? She couldn’t know. The flimsy aura of her curse, only a mist now, lonely and useless, existed without man or woman to rob.
Still, her power singed the air. Fine, dim silver threads waved over the ground, attached her to the cursed stone she’d placed under a floorboard in the entrance long ago. Each object of her dark affections planted now under the weathered headstones behind the house. Each year at this time, the anniversary of the last death, she came to taste the residual fears stuck in the ground.
This year, surely her last, she breathed in the decay of her deed, let the power of her revenge course through her, cold and exhilarating in some demented way. One last look she granted herself at the house, the pinnacle of her generations of dark spells. Dead twigs and unearthed roots held tight to its foundation, worshiped their dying god. Her maniacal laughter stirred the dead.
